Nader Shah Afshar was a powerful Shah of Iran/Persia, who ruled from 1736 to 1747 A.D. He also founded the Afsharid Dynasty. At the height of his reign, his empire stretched from Russia to what is now known as the United Arab Emirates and from the Euphrates to the Indus. Originally from a poor background, he had experienced a deprived childhood.
